SALMON TOURS
for schools, for the public, for families, for business groups, or just for fun!

This year SYRCL is again teaming up with Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC), the UC Sierra Foothill Extension Center, and volunteer naturalists, to take students from all around the watershed down the Lower Yuba River in rafts and on walking tours. They will explore the banks of the Yuba by raft and by foot and witness Chinook Salmon spawn. This is an incredible opportunity for you, your family, and your child’s school to adventure down the Yuba River to see spawning salmon! Get your hands (and feet) wet while learning about the salmon life cycle, their ecology, and human impact on these incredible fish. We have two opportunities to experience Salmon Tours.
School groups can sign up by contacting Annika@syrcl.org. Our trips are almost full for the year- so book your spot today!
On Saturday, October 28 – join SYRCL as a Salmon Tour participant with your family as a fun Saturday adventure. Seats are limited.

Want to get more involved? SYRCL is seeking passionate individuals to join us as volunteers serving as naturalists on the rafts and on land. Free Salmon Tour Naturalist training takes place on October 7th and 8th.
Signup to become a volunteer Naturalist Here!
As a volunteer Naturalist, Salmon Tours will allow you to share your love of the Yuba and salmon with the next generation of environmental stewards and decision makers. Whether you’ve been down the river before or not, your time and energy as a teacher or volunteer will help to bring awe and wonder into the lives of hundreds of local students.

For many, this will be the first time they have ever felt personally connected to the river and to the life that thrives within it. The power of this connection can last a lifetime – for them and for you – and may be just the thing that inspires the next great movement to protect our beautiful natural places.
If you are interested in joining our team of magic-makers, want to schedule a Salmon Tour for your school, or have questions, please contact the River Education Manager, Annika Alexander-Ozinskas at annika@syrcl.org, or by phone at (530) 265-5961 ext. 218. We invite you to visit the Salmon Tour website at http://yubariver.org/our-work/river-education/salmon-tours/ to learn more and buy tickets for our Public Tour!
