Get your hands (and feet) wet while learning about the salmon life cycle, their ecology, and human impact on these incredible fish.

Join SYRCL River Science staff and the river guides from Environmental Traveling Companions on Saturday, October 28th for a float trip down the lower Yuba to see spawning salmon. This educational and fun day on a raft includes learning about the Yuba River ecosystem, how mining has impacted the river, SYRCL’s work to protect salmon, viewing one of SYRCL’s major restoration projects at Hammon Bar, and hiking the Yuba Goldfields.

You might get the opportunity to witness awe-inspiring salmon as they jump two-feet out of the water, show off their beautiful silvery coloration and dart wildly around our rafts. Be amazed by the spectacular journey of wild Chinook salmon as they make their way from the ocean to their ancestral spawning waters!

The spawning season is short, and spots fill up quickly, so reserve your spot now!

REGISTER FOR PUBLIC SALMON TOURS HERE!

Public tours are $75 for nonmembers, $65 for members, and $40 for kids under 12. These tours help fund our school raft program. This means your trip is a fun learning experience that also helps give students the opportunity to learn about the river!
